What is immunity? A word immunity which is very common or can say during this pandemic period of covid 19 we have heard alot this word but in actually what is meaning of it? In simple language it is the capability of body to fightagainst the diseases or in biology term it is the defence mechanism action of our body towards diseases. The term immune system relates to immunity means our body system which looks after for immunity is known as immune system. People with weak immune system always suffer from diseases or weather sickness means they easily get catch by diseases like common cold, cough,fever,etc and people with strong immune system tends to be less catch by diseases. Let us discuss some more information about it.

TYPES OF IMMUNITY
There are mainly three types of immunity
1. inborn or innate immunity - the immunity which is present by birth in our bodies. One third of immunity is inherited by genes.
2.Adaptive immunity - immunity in which body itself fight against the pathogens through immune system.
3. Passive immunity - borrowed from some another source but its not long lasting.
Another type of immunity is immunization in which a person made immune or resistance to an infection by vaccination.
DEFENCE MECHANISM ACTION OF BODY
The first line of defence includes physical and chemical barriers that are always ready and prepared to defend the body from infection. These include skin, tears, mucus, cilia, stomach acid, urine flow, friendly bacteria and white blood cells. It is considered as innate immunity.
The second line of defence is nonspecific resistance. it is also a function of innate immunity like vomiting, loose motion, etc.
The third line of defence is specific resistance, which is considered a function of acquired immunity like fever. During fever many anti bodies are produced by our body.
HOW TO ENHANCE IMMUNITY
• dont smoke
• eat a diet high in fruits and vegetables
• exercise regularly
• maintain a healthy weight
• get adequate sleep
• to avoid infection, wash your hands regularly
WHAT TO EAT FOR IMMUNITY
Citrus fruits are good option for immunity. Vitamin C is thought to increase the production of white blood cells, which are key fighting infections.
Green vegetables
Aloe vera is also known for immunity enhancers
In market several immunity enhancers are also available. You can use them on daily basis.
